Some were very determined while others danced through the challenge but all had fun!
Temple Sq. Sisters had eight weeks to prepare for the 5K challenge. The challenge was accepted with
excitement and a desire to become more fit, healthy and energetic so that we
can be more effective missionaries on Temple Square! President Harmon “Socked it to
us” by providing everyone with their first pair of running socks so as to avoid
those nasty blisters we all hate. Our theme became:
"FIT FOR THE KINGDOM"
We could choose our pace; to run, walk/jog, or just walk. Our route was around the Utah Capitol building, down Gravity Hill and through the Canyon. Very scenic!! It all ended with a great breakfast bash at Brigham Young Park.
The objective was to have fun, strengthen bodies (the temple of our spirits), learn/practice a life-time sport, build unity throughout the mission, promote more sound and restful sleep, more stamina and energy during the day, fewer illnesses, reduced stress and become happier individuals.
