Church History Museum

Sept. 23, 2015

The Church History Museum has been closed for renovation for the past year and is due to open to the public on September 30th.  Temple Square Mission was invited to take a tour today before the grand opening on the 30th.  We began at The Heavens are Opened exhibit which shows on the Awakening Wall how the hand of God guided the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through the Prophet Joseph Smith and others during the period of 1820-1846.

Other exhibitions we were able to see were:  Presidents of the Church which showcased some of the most memorable possessions, teachings and accomplishments of past Presidents of the Church as well as many artifacts, documents, and art pieces.  Everyone's favorite was the Vision Theater which has a viewing angle of 220 degrees and 103 acoustical springs attached to the ceiling to create a floating sound isolation lid.  Everyone enjoyed the tour and look forward to going back.
